North Bay Regional Center is one of 21 Regional Centers for persons with developmental disabilities in California. Started as a grass roots movement, Regional Centers were originally established to assist persons with intellectual disabilities — and their families — in identifying and developing services and programs within their communities that help them lead more independent lives.  Each a non-profit, community-based organization, Regional Centers were established in 1965 under legislation sponsored by Assemblyman Frank Lanterman. The Lanterman Act became effective in 1969 and later expanded the populations served to include persons with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, and other disabling conditions requiring services similar to individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. In 1972, NBRC was incorporated to serve Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties.

North Bay Regional Center provides advocacy, services, support and care coordination to children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties.

DEFINITION:

Under the general supervision of the I.T. Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing a wide variety of first level systems support services including SANDIS support, Laserfiche support, maintaining the IBM Power 8 platform, and other NBRC specific programs.

NATURE OF WORK:

Under the direction of the I.T. Supervisor, provide computer, application, and office support services. This position will assume the operational duties for the Regional Center PC Network, IBM Power 8, and Laserfiche Cloud Document repository support. This position may also act as the main point of contact for SANDIS inquiry requests and work closely with NBRC’s training staff to ensure SANDIS version updates are communicated clearly to all employees. Finally, this position may perform functions of data management and analysis as related to the IBM Power 8 platform.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Agency Helpdesk Desktop Support:

  • Provide technical support to users via phone, email, text, and in-person interactions. Will manage and assign Helpdesk Tickets as received and as level appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose a wide range of hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Efficiently and effectively resolve common user problems, documenting solutions for future reference.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, system backups, and security checks.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
  • Responsible for IT onboarding tasks related to hiring new employees to ensure they have equipment necessary to work successfully at NBRC.

Sandis/UFS Support:

· Provide primary office support services and procedures relating to NBRC’s AS/400/CADDIS computer operations.

· Provide Helpdesk Support services to the agency staff.

· Maintain the Regional Center’s AS/400 computer system.

· Responsible for routine maintenance and backup for the AS/400 computer system and system printer.

· Troubleshoot the AS/400 computer system and software problems. Propose and implement problem resolutions.

· Provide scheduled and on-demand report services for NBRC employees.

  • Responsible for UFS updates and requests.
  • Responsible for SANDIS updates.
  • Partner with NBRC training staff to ensure communication and training regarding SANDIS updates are clearly understood and implemented.

· Provide advice and assistance to NBRC employees on computer operations.

Laserfiche Support:

· Acquire detailed knowledge of the Laserfiche product line and third-party integrations.

· Provide technical support to users for all aspects of Laserfiche software.

· Troubleshoot and resolve Laserfiche related issues including document management, workflows, and integrations.

· Assist with configuration and customization of Laserfiche according to user needs.

· Stay up to date on the latest Laserfiche features and functionalities.

· Create and maintain user documentation for Laserfiche processes.

· Assist developers with writing and maintaining internal applications.

· Work on assigned programming tasks using scripting languages.

· Automate routine tasks using scripting to improve efficiency.

· Test and debug existing code to ensure functionality.

· Document code and maintain clear technical records.

IBM Power 8 Data Analysis:

· Access and extract data from various sources on the IBM Power 8 platform.

· Clean and scrub data to ensure accuracy and consistency, handling missing values, and formatting inconsistencies.

· Transform data into a usable format for analysis.

· Document data sources, cleaning processes, and data transformations.

· Utilize queries and data analysis tools to explore and analyze prepared data.

· Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within the data.

· Perform statistical analysis to draw meaningful conclusions.

· Develop reports and visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs) to effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Critical thinking and problem-solving

· Effectively communicating insights in a clear, concise, and compelling way is essential.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by additional courses in computer operations.
  • Experience in maintaining and administering computer operations is required.
  • Possession of relevant computer network-related certifications (such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ Security, and MS Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals. or equivalent) is highly desirable.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to provide personal automobile transportation, or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours, not only for personal transportation but for relocation of technology equipment.
  • If using a personal vehicle, provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.
  • Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency.
  • This position will be primarily based in the office, however, a hybrid arrangement of remote and in-office work may also be available.
  • This position may require travel within Sonoma, Napa and Solano Counties.

Salary

$51,240 – $68,688 with opportunities for 5% increases annually
