Self-Determination Program Specialist


North Bay Regional Center is a nonprofit private corporation that contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.  We are looking for a Self-Determination Program Specialist to join our dedicated team.  At North Bay, we’re promoting opportunities by supporting choices for people with developmental disabilities.


Under the general direction of the Self-Determination Supervisor, the Self-Determination Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and administration of the Self-Determination Program (SDP), serving as the central point of contact for staff and the community.  This position will provide training, advocacy and carry out administrative functions in relation to the participants of the Self-Determination Program and NBRC staff.  In addition, the SDP Specialist will provide support and internal consultation on SDP to all case management units, Community Services and Fiscal Department staff on an as needed basis.


Bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities; regional center experience strongly preferred.

Spanish Speaking ability strongly preferred.


  • Fluency in a language in addition to English, is preferred.
  • Ability to provide personal automobile transportation or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours. Provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.
  • Flexibility in work hours is required to meet needs of the regional center constituency.
  • This position will be primarily based in the office, however, remote work may also be available.

Under a mandate issued by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) on September 28, 2021, all Regional Center Employees must be fully vaccinated by November 30, 2021, or be approved for a medical or religious exemption by NBRC. If offered a position at NBRC, all newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of vaccination, or to engage with NBRC in an interactive discussion regarding a potential medical or religious exemption.

Salary Range

$57,648 – $77,292 with opportunities for 5% increase annually
