Meet NBRC’s First-Ever Director of Equity & Engagement
Advancing Equity & Engagement: Claudia Ritchie Joins NBRC Executive Leadership
Claudia Ritchie, our first-ever Director of Equity & Engagement, is the newest member of our Executive Team. Claudia brings over nine years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Her deep-rooted passion for creating environments where all individuals are valued, respected, and empowered has made a lasting impact across the roles she has held. As an advocate for inclusion and social justice, Claudia has continuously championed equitable practices that make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
In her current role, Claudia is leading the development and implementation of agency-wide equity policies, collaborating with leadership teams to embed inclusive practices, and ensuring we meet and exceed all regulatory standards. Her commitment to cultural competency and strategic equity initiatives is helping to advance access-focused services and strengthen how we deliver support throughout our community.
Claudia holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Pacific Union University and a master’s degree in management & leadership from Western Governors University, an academic foundation that reflects both her compassion and her drive to lead meaningful change.
Outside of work, Claudia loves returning to her native country, Mexico, where she enjoys reconnecting with family and friends. She is also a passionate music enthusiast, with tastes ranging from Mariachi and Cumbia to Opera and Classical. When she’s not traveling, Claudia finds joy in quiet moments at home, spending time with her family and beloved pets.
We are thrilled to have her vision and leadership guiding our efforts toward a more inclusive and equitable future.

Thank You Disability Rights Advocates!
Toni Marie was one of numerous disability rights advocates who participated in the Keep the Promise Rally at the State Capitol on May 22nd. This important event advocates for the protection of disability services in both federal and state budgets and reaffirms the commitment to “keep the promise” of the Lanterman Act, which guarantees individuals with developmental disabilities the right to the services and supports they need to live more independent and productive lives.
Thank you, Toni Marie and all the advocates who raised their voices to protect and advance the rights of people with developmental disabilities. Your dedication helps ensure that the promise of the Lanterman Act remains a reality for all.
