AB 637 Public Meeting February 1st 10:00 a.m.

Notice for: AB 637 Proposal and Notice of Public Meeting

January 17, 2023

North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) will be hosting a virtual public meeting on February 1, 2023 at

10:00 am, to discuss a proposal that will be submitted to the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), requesting to waive the use of the statewide median rates, associated with the following service codes: 056, 115, 116, and 117; pursuant to Welfare and Institution Code § 4691.9 (a),.

This request will include NBRC’s current vendored and new Psychologists providing Intellectual and/or Autism Evaluations. This waiver will afford NBRC, the ability to complete timely eligibility reviews for prospective applicants. NBRC is confident waiving this statue will increase provider availability, and as a result, accelerate the timeline for eligibility determination for client/ family access to Regional Center Services. NBRC estimates this waiver will increase purchase of service spending by $423,644.36 per year, directly related to psychological evaluations. NBRC will in addition, utilize the enhanced rate to address the need for Bilingual Psychologists to support non-English-speaking clients and families. A competitive rate will allow NBRC to support our three diverse catchment areas consisting of Sonoma, Napa, and Solano counties more effectively. Last, to accomplish the goal of inclusion, diversity, and equity, NBRC needs to provide competent rates to hire qualifying English, Bilingual and Bicultural service providers to serve our marginalized populations.

This request in accordance with Title 17 Sections: CCR § 52082, CCR §57300 (c),  CCR § 57210(a)(19) and Welfare Institution Codes (WIC) WIC 4691.9 (a)
