As new Board policies are developed to meet both legislative and NBRC-identified needs, these must be submitted to the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Per legislation expanding the use of Independent Living Services (ILS) to individuals who reside in their family home, NBRC’s ILS Board Policy has been approved by DDS. This important service seeks to give adults living in their family home opportunities to learn independent living skills so they can increase their ability to become more self-sufficient in adulthood.
