NBRC is thrilled to continue our partnership with the Botanical Bus to offer wellness workshops specifically for our Spanish-speaking caregivers, Planting Seeds of Self-Care.
Earlier this year, we hosted a five-month series titled “Caring for the Caregiver”. Participants gained valuable insights into coping skills, cultural practices, the healing properties of plants and herbs, connecting with their inner child, and much more. During these sessions, caregivers not only interacted with the wellness workshop facilitators but also enjoyed breakfast with NBRC Staff before each meeting. This allowed them to stay informed about new NBRC programming and events while asking personal questions about their experiences.
We have created a testimonial video to highlight and honor their journeys. We strongly encourage you to take some time to listen to their stories; we hope their words inspire you to share this opportunity with other Spanish-speaking caregivers on your caseload.
Our new series of workshops will begin in Ocotber in both offices for a 5 month series. We invite Spanish-speaking caregivers to join us as we embark on this new journey of growth and wellness together. Each workshop is designed to foster a supportive community where participants can learn, share experiences, and connect with others who understand the unique challenges they face.
This series will focus on enhancing emotional resilience, exploring traditional healing practices, and providing practical tools for self-care. Our expert facilitators, who bring a wealth of knowledge and cultural understanding, are eager to guide them through each session with compassion and empathy.
Whether you are a returning participant or new to our workshops, we welcome you with open arms. Together, let’s create a nurturing space where caregivers can thrive, feel appreciated, and find renewed strength. For more information on how to register, please visit our see flyers below. We look forward to continuing this meaningful journey of wellness and empowerment.

In our ongoing commitment to engage and expand our outreach, we are thrilled to introduce the second series of our Technology training specifically designed for Spanish-speaking caregivers. We will offer monthly trainings in each office for a span of 7 months beginning in December 2025. 25 Laptops will be available at NBRC offices for these training sessions to facilitate easy access. Please refer to the flyer for more details.
Thanks to the DDS Language Access and Cultural Competency funds, we’ve been able to implement incredible programs and events aimed at increasing access to services and raising awareness of services available through the regional center. The goal of these funds is to support initiatives that will help address the disparities in POS expenditure data we are observing within our community and across the state.
To tackle the digital divide faced by our Spanish speaking community, we aspire for caregivers to build the confidence and skills necessary to navigate technology. This will not only enhance their communication with NBRC but also empower them to thrive in today’s technological landscape. Our training series will cover a wide array of topics, including basic computer skills, internet safety, and the use of essential free Google Workspace tools. Classes will be conducted in a supportive and interactive environment, allowing participants to learn at their own pace.
We understand the importance of language and cultural sensitivity in education, which is why all sessions will be delivered in Spanish by NBRC staff that have been a part of their journey. In understanding the unique needs of caregivers, this ensures that every participant feels comfortable and confident as they acquire new skills.
We believe that by empowering caregivers with technological proficiency, we are not only bridging the digital divide but also fostering a more inclusive and equitable community. We are excited to embark on this journey with our Spanish speaking caregivers and look forward to celebrating their achievements as they become more connected and informed members of the community.
