For more than two decades, individuals who have a developmental disability have created ornaments used to decorate the Christmas tree at the State Capitol. The Department of Developmental services (DDS) would love to see your ornament creation at the official State Capitol Tree Lighting Ceremony! Ornaments must be received by DDS no later than November 16th! Please refer to the following link for ornament guidelines, suggestions and shipping form information:

Community Resource Development Plan FY 23-24 – NBRC’s Local Priorities
A Community Resource Development Plan (CRDP) is developed by each regional center in California with stakeholder input. This plan will be used to develop new resources for individuals with developmental disabilities living in the community.
NBRC gathered stakeholder input via survey and needs assessments to determined the below DRAFT local priorities for the development of NBRC’s Community Resource Development Plan:
NBRC will submit its 2023-24 fiscal year Community Resource Development Plan to the Department of Developmental Services by November 13, 2023. Once the plan is approved by the Department of Developmental Services, NBRC will publish Requests for Proposals asking service providers to develop new services to meet these priorities.
Beginning September 1, 2023, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) may receive up to two $625 (before taxes) stipends when they complete online training courses approved by the Department of Developmental Services available in the ARCA Learning Center. The DSP Training Stipend Program runs through June 30, 2024, and all courses must be completed by that date.
Below please find NBRC’s process for vendors and DSP staff to access this new program, including information on who qualifies for this program.
