North Bay Regional Center was awarded funding from the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) in partnership with the California Department of Mental Health and the Department of Developmental Services. Two separate programs were created with this funding:
- Building Bridges: Meeting the Needs of Individuals Diagnosed with a Mental Health Condition and a Developmental Disability, is a 3 year contract that was launched with a conference event March 7 & 8, 2012. The focus is to improve community systems and supports through streamlined collaboration and coordination of services between the tri-county mental health and developmental disability programs. - Project Connect, the second program, is a three-year project that focuses on mental health and wellness of young children (birth-five years old). The aim of the project is to promote the development of an inter-organizational system of coordinated, culturally appropriate infant-family and early childhood mental health services that support young children’s social-emotional health and well-being in these three counties.
